Am vergangenen Wochenende habe ich am Hero-Meetup von Pexels in Zittau teilgenommen – es war eine großartige Erfahrung! Es tat gut, dem Trubel der Großstadt zu entfliehen und diese wunderschöne, einladende Stadt kennenzulernen, die so viele tolle Aktivitäten für Familien bietet und unzählige Fotomotive bereithält (ich habe an nur zwei Tagen rund 1.000 Fotos gemacht 🤣)!

– A few pints at @hopsandbarley.berlin ;
– A last-minute ride out to Wilmersdorf for some Portuguese food (missing those flavors!);
– Came back home too late in the rain;

It was supposed to be just a short outing, but in Berlin, one thing leads to another… we ended up spending the whole day and night out. Not complaining, but now I’m swapping lunch for a gym session 😅

What was your favorite photo? Mine was definitely the one of the Cadillac. I was invited to step inside and take a few interior shots, I’m pretty sure my father-in-law, Mr. @ademarantoniomessa , wouldn’t want to leave if he had the chance! The interior is bigger than most of the new apartments in the city!

What was your favorite photo? Mine was definitely the one of the Cadillac. I was invited to step inside and take a few interior shots, I’m pretty sure my father-in-law, Mr. @ademarantoniomessa , wouldn’t want to leave if he had the chance! The interior is bigger than most of the new apartments in the city!

Walking through the kiez during sunset , I remembered the first time I passed by Café Moskau. A German gentleman, well into his 90s, stopped me to chat and share some curiosities about Karl-Marx-Allee.

He told me how this grand boulevard was once a showcase of socialist architecture in East Berlin, wide, monumental, and meant to impress. Originally called Stalinallee, it was built as a “workers’ paradise” after WWII, lined with massive Stalinist-style buildings and symbols of the GDR’s vision for the future.
Back then, my German was even worse than it is today... I could understand what he was saying, but didn’t have the vocabulary to properly respond.

Still, moments like that stay with you.
